Sam Zhong is the founder of BKSilicone, boasting over 15 years of hands-on experience in the silicone industry. Since entering the field in 2009, he has remained dedicated to the application research and engineering practice of RTV-2 addition-cure silicone materials.
Distinct from traditional practitioners with solely a material science background, Sam's career path has always been rooted in real-world application scenarios. He serves as both a frontline silicone mold maker and a silicone engineering practitioner. This dual perspective allows him to precisely identify pain points across the entire chain—from raw material to finished product—and provide systematic solutions.
Senior Mold Maker (Since 2014)
Since 2014, Sam has personally immersed himself in the practice of silicone mold making, serving sectors ranging from chocolate, candles, and soap to resin and plaster crafts.
Through long-term frontline practice, he has optimized every stage of the mold-making process:
- Structural Design & Master Pattern (3D Printing/CNC)
- Silicone Selection & Pouring Techniques
- Curing Control & Demolding Applications
To date, he has led the delivery of over 1,000+ sets of custom silicone molds, developing a profound understanding of mold stability, detail reproduction, and service life.
Silicone Material Engineer (Since 2009)
As an engineering practitioner deeply cultivated in the RTV-2 platinum silicone field, Sam possesses a systemic understanding of silicone formulation systems.
R&D Breakthrough: Dissatisfied with market instability, he led his team in 2022 to develop BKSilicone's proprietary "Low-Viscosity" platinum silicone system. This system is renowned for combining high flowability, high tear strength, and strong resistance to cure inhibition.
Technical Innovation: He successfully reduced platinum silicone viscosity to under 2000cps (achieving self-degassing) while overcoming cure inhibition with SLA 3D printing resins. His philosophy is simple: "Let complex chemical formulas serve a minimalist user experience."
Philosophy & Style
"An excellent silicone material is defined not by victories on a datasheet, but by its ability to withstand repeated use in actual application sites."
This "begin with the end in mind" mindset ensures BKSilicone's products remain closely aligned with user needs. Sam insists on being the "first user" for product verification—all materials must undergo long-term testing in real scenarios before launch. This is the core of BKSilicone's positioning as "The Material Partner Who Understands Applications Best."
