To our Global Partners and Friends,
I am Sam Zhong, the founder of BKSilicone.
In 2009, I entered the liquid silicone industry, focusing on the market promotion and application services of RTV-2 silicone materials. Years of continuous collaboration with engineers, mold makers, and end-users allowed me to build a systematic understanding of silicone formulas, material properties, and the diverse application needs of different industries.
Starting from the Application Field
Throughout my long-term service in the market, I discovered a growing number of creators, designers, and small studios who needed only a single mold or a small batch of silicone molds but were often hindered by cost, craftsmanship, or material issues.
To meet the growing demand for DIY and small-batch custom molds, I personally immersed myself in silicone mold making practice in May 2014. We began providing custom silicone mold solutions for craft sectors such as chocolate, candles, soap, resin, and plaster. Step by step, we established a complete workflow—from structural design and master pattern production (3D Printing / CNC) to silicone mold molding and delivery. To date, we have successfully delivered over 1,000 sets of custom molds.
An Unavoidable Challenge
However, during our own mold production, I encountered a dilemma faced by almost every practitioner: batch quality fluctuations in outsourced silicone raw materials directly led to unstable mold yields.
Upon deep investigation, we found that these fluctuations did not stem from the main ingredients but from a "trace oily component" in the raw material system—minute in proportion yet critical in function. I gradually realized: If we cannot control the material source, we cannot truly be responsible for the mold application.
Returning to the Source
Therefore, starting in 2022, relying on our extensive frontline experience in mold manufacturing, we made a bold decision: to independently develop addition-cure silicone raw materials. We spared no cost, conducting hundreds of formula iterations and extreme tests, finally establishing our own "Low-Viscosity" platinum silicone system, locking in absolute batch-to-batch stability from the chemical root.
Stability is just the foundation. BKSilicone products are born to solve actual pain points. Addressing the three core challenges of platinum silicone in mold making, we achieved systematic breakthroughs:
- The Bubble Issue: We broke industry norms by controlling platinum silicone viscosity to within 2000 cps (significantly lower than the common 3000–8000 cps) while maintaining superior tear strength. This excellent fluidity and self-degassing property allow you to easily create perfect, bubble-free molds even without vacuum equipment.
- Cure Inhibition (Poisoning): Targeting mainstream SLA 3D printing resin molds, we deeply analyzed resin components. Through special formula modifications, we significantly enhanced the anti-inhibition capability of the BK-A series platinum silicone, effectively reducing the risk of cure failure.
- Curing Efficiency: After solving the bubble issue, we optimized the pot life to approximately 15 minutes with a full cure time of about 2 hours, significantly boosting mold-making efficiency and delivery pace.
Being Your Practical Partner
Over the past few years, we have been the "first user" of our own products. The delivery of thousands of high-quality molds has proven the stability and robustness of the BK-A series materials.
For this reason, we decided to officially bring this long-verified BK-A series platinum silicone to the market, sharing it with more partners who value application quality.
We have always believed that a true partner does more than just provide products; they are a reliable ally offering end-to-end technical support when problems arise. BKSilicone is dedicated to being that partner—offering not just stable products, but solutions and value-added services.
BKSilicone aspires to be the material partner who understands applications best and is most worthy of your trust.
Sincerely,
Sam Zhong
